ABOUT THE TOUR:

This is an magnificent tour which gives the best of Ladakh that it has for adventure lovers. The tour takes you to remote villages, ancient monasteries and a Safari ride to the last frontier of Nubra valley over the high pass of Khardungla 5359 M, world’s highest motorable road. A mild village to village trek in the Sham valley supplement to visit some villages otherwise inaccessible. The trek can be done by anyone of any age. One witnesses the grand opening day of the famoue Ladakh Festival when people from all over Ladakh gather at one place in their traditional best.

 DAY BY DAY ITINERARY

Day 01: 29^thAug :Arrive New Delhifrom home. On arrival met by representative and transfer to hotel in Delhi. Depending upon your flight timings today first half rest at the hotel and later in the afternoon or late afternoon we leave for a guided city tour of the Red Fort and Jama Masjid. Overnight hotel Airport Residency or similar at Delhi.

Day 02: 30^thAug: Delhi-Leh:  Early morning about 2:30 am we leave the hotel to the domestic airport to board the flight to Leh, which leaves around 5 am. The flight takes about 1 hrs and 15 minutes and becomes extremely interesting once you enter the Himalayas. It becomes almost a “sightseeing by flight” once over the Himalayan and Zanskar ranges of mountain, massifs, glaciers and peaks at an eye level emerging from the cloud bed. Finally you land at one of the highest airport in the world at 11500 fts. On arrival met by representative and transfer to hotel. Day COMPLETE REST to acclimatize to the high altitude to avoid mountain sickness. Evening we drive to Leh palace and back. Overnight at the hotel Snow Land or similar at Leh.

Day 03: 31^stAug:  Leh:Morning visit an Oracle. Join Ladakh festival in Leh or near by village as per your choice to see Archery competition, Marriage ceremony, Folk Dance performance which are performed at different venues in different villages. Evening we walk through Sankar village to top of the Shanti Stupa and walk back to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel Snow Land or similar at Leh.

Day 04: 01^stSept: LADAKH FESTIVAL:Morning leave to witness the closing ceremony of LADAKH FESTIVAL at Leh Polo Ground, the closing ceremony is celebrated as grand as the first day; opening ceremony. A spectacular view of Carnival taken from upper Leh to the venue (Polo Ground) when people in their traditional dress from all over the Ladakh gather here. Overnight at the hotel Snow Land or similar at Leh.

Day 05: 02^ndSept: Leh:Early morning drive to Thiksey monastery to meet with the morning prayer ceremony performed by an assembly of monks just before the sunrise. We shall have breakfast at the monastery restaurant and proceed to Hemis monastery. We visit the monastery and walk to Gotsang, the meditation caves deeply hidden in the mountains. We shall have tea with the monks walk back to the village and drive to Leh. Overnight at the hotel Snow Land or similar at Leh.

Day 06: 03^rdSept: Leh-Alchi:Drive from Leh to Alchi a hot lunch awaits you at the camp resort.  Relax and walk to the only ancient monastery of Alchi which is not on a hill top and dates back to 1000 years! Walk to the bank of Indus river and relax at the riverside, perhaps a sunbath. Walk back to the resort through village, meet locals. Lunch at the camp. After lunch visit Rizong monastery which is famous for meditation and believed that Guru Padmasabhava meditated here for several years. Overnight at the West Ladakh Camp at Uleytokpo.

Day 07: 04^thSept: Yangthang to Hemis Shukpachan (3596 M)-02 ½Hrs: Drive to our trek point Yangthang village, Start the trek  A short trek of 02 hours takes us to the village of Hemis Shukpachan. As soon as you cross the river, the climb of the Phobe La (4,000 M) starts, which takes around 01 hour to reach the top of the pass. After another hour or half you reach Hemis Shukpachan. Overnight Village house in Hemis Shukpachan.    

Day 08: 05^thSept: Hemis Shukpachan to Temisgam 4 ½  Hrs: After an easy walk for an hour you will start climbing Meptak La. (3980 M).  After the pass you reach Ang village near the river. After crossing the river you can walk down to Temisgam village. We can visit the Temisgam Palace, monastery and Nunnery. Overnight at village house at Temisgam.     

Day 09: 06^thSept: Temisgam to Khalse 4 ½Hrs: Walk towards Tia along the road for sometimes and then cross the river. After walking for a few minutes you will start climbing the Bongbong La. (3630 M) Then you reach the Leh-Srinagar highway. You can walk upto Khalse along the road otherwise your trek finishes here. Pickup by car and drive to Leh. Overnight at the hotel Snow Land or similar at Leh.   

Day 10: 07^thSept: Leh-Nubra:Drive from Leh to Nubra valley over the world’s highest motorable road over the Khardung la pass (5602 M). Afternoon visit to the Deskit and Hunder villages. Night stay at the village resort.   

Day 11: 08^thSept: Nubra:Morning visit the Samstanling monastery and drive to Panamik hot spring. Enjoy the bath, the hot spring water has lots of medicinal properties. Overnigth at the camp resort.

Day 12: 09^thSept: Nubra-Leh:Drive back from Nubra to Leh. Afternoon free. Overnight at the hotel Snow Land or similar at Leh.   

Day 13: 10^thSpet: Leh-Delhi:  On time departure transfer to Leh airport to fly Delhi. On arrival in Delhi met by representative and transfer to hotel. Overnight hotel in Delhi.   

Day 14: 11^thSept:Delhi-Home. On time departure transfer to International airport to board the flight ot home.
