ABOUT THE TOUR:

A unique tour of the Indian Himalayas, with combination of three different culture and religion. From the Land of the Sikh To the Hindu religion of the Himalayas. This tour also passes Through the Exile home of H.H. Dalai Lama. A breathtaking Adventure and cultural safari tour through the Trans-Himalayan region bordering the Tibet to the extreme north In the Karakoram range to the Nubra valley. Deep into the remote villages, walks, interaction with the local and much more.

Day 01: HOME-DELHI:Arrive Delhi from home by international flight. On arrival at IGI Airport met by representative in the arrival lounge and transfer the hotel for the overnight.

Day 02: DELHI-AMRITSAR:  Morning after breakfast at the hotel, leave for sightseeing of Old Delhi monuments, visit Red Fort, Jama Masjid, A Short cycle Rickshaw ride through the old city of Chandini Chowk. After the visit transfer to New Delhi Railway station to board the evening train Amritsar Shatabdi to Amristar which leave at 16:30 Hrs. and arrives Amritsar at 22:35 Hrs. On arrival in Amritsar, met by representative and transfer to hotel for the overnight.

Day 03: AMRISTAR:Morning after breakfast at the hotel leave for sightseeing of the Golden Temple (Sikh religion) Located in the heart of the city is the Golden Temple, the most visited tourist attraction of Amritsar. Also visit Jalianwala Bagh A historical monument that tells the sad story of mass killing during the independence movement in India. Evening visit Wagah Border located on the Indo-Pakistan border, Wagah is 28 kilometers from the Amritsar main town. A good number of visitors come to this place to see the change of guards ceremony and the flag hoisting and lowering activities which are done with great skill and precision by the border security forces of both the countries. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Amritsar.

Day 04: AMRITSAR-DHARAMSALA (215 Kms / 05 Hrs):Morning after breakfast drive from Amristar to Dharamsala is a popular hill station. It is also famous as the present home of Dalai Lama’s Tibetan Government in Exile. This wonderful and picturesque hill station is characterized by magnificent deodar and pine forests, tea gardens and beautiful hills. Situated at an altitude of 1250 metres to 1982 metres. On arrival check-in hotel. Evening walk upto the Bagsunath temple and waterfall. Explore the small town of Mc Leodganj. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Mcleodganj.

Day 05: DHARAMSALA:Morning after breakfast at the hotel leave for a full day sightseeing of Dharamsala including the Norbulingka Institute named after the 18th century residence of the 7th Dalai Lama, teaches about 100 students various skills including wood and metal craft, silk weaving and thangka paintings. Also visit Dalai Lama’s main temple, Tibetan Astro and Medical center. A possible audience with Dalai Lama today. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Mcleodganj.

Day 06: DHARAMSALA-TARAGARH (50 Kms / 02 Hrs):Morning after breakfast at the hotel leave Dharamsala for Taragarh, a heritage place in Himachal Pradesh is Blessed with some of the most spectacular and beautiful landscapes anywhere. Visit the Tashijong Monastery which has a commanding view of the Kangra valley, the nearby Andretta Pottery village - specializing in ethnic clay pottery. Dinner and overnight at the Heritage Hotel Taragah Palace.

Day 07: TARAHARH-MANALI (192 Kms / 04 Hrs):Morning after breakfast at the hotel drive to Manali. Enroute visit the Naggar Castle which was built by Raja Sidha Singh about 500years ago. It was converted into a heritage hotel by Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation in 1978. There is a museum in the castle and a small Jagatipatt temple in the premises, which contains a slab that is believed to be carried here by bees. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Manali.

Day 08: MANALI-SARCHU (222 Kms /07 Hrs):Early morning drive to Sarchu. Enroute pass through Rohtang Pass (3980 M). Baralacha Pass  (4830 m). The bare and desolate valleys of Lahaul  shadowed by the peaks and glaciers of the Lesser Himalayas. The view is a salutary reminder of the stark terrain and towering watersheds traversed by the high road to Leh. Arrive Sarchu and check into tents. Evening at leisure & overnight at the Rashpian  Adventure Camp.

Day 09: SARCHU-TO KAR (4268M/165 Kms)- TSO MORIRI(4485M/45Kms):After breakfast drive to Tso Kar. (Kar Lake),  It is a day where we will cross a number of passes the first of which already being passed Bara Lacha La (4955M above sea level). After coming down from Bara Lacha La climb up the Gatta Loops, a series of 21 hairpin bends carved into the mountainside and then after descending once again wound your way up the Lachung La pass (4985M above sea level). From here the road twists its way to Pang through an amazing canyon with sheer cliffs and rocky outcrops looming up on both sides of the road. Drive to Tso-Moriri via Sumdo . TsoMoriri lake is also called as white lake because of salt deposit around it. It is approx 45 kms northwest of the Tso -Kar. Packed lunch en-route.

Sumdo to Tsomoriri is one of the most interesting drives as it goes through sandy deserts & rocky paths. After slowly zigzaging up to the Namshang-La, the drive follows a smooth descent and drive past the isolated Thasang Tso - a small torquoise lake which appears like an emerald of a queen's necklace.

Dinner and overnight stay in camp.

Day 10: TSO MORIRI - LEH (3506M/ 280 Kms / 07 Hrs):After breakfast drive for 7hours to Leh via Sumdo and Chuma – Thang (3965M). Enroute stop at Mahe Bridge from where the road crosses to the south bank of the river by a bridge; it then follows the unmetalled road through Sumdo village up to join Puga stream. The drive from Sumdo to Mahe follows a narrow mountain gorge through green bushes. Packed lunch en-route.

Chuma-Thang is known for its famous medicated hot water springs where people from various parts of Ladakh come for relieving their pains. Enroute drive past beautiful villages of Nurnis, Kery and Kadgam.

The Jeep drive through this part of the Indus valley is quite flat without much uphill or downhill drive, a wide open village.

Day 11: LEH:Day leisure at Leh. Evening walk to the small Leh Bazaar. Overnight at the hotel in Leh.

Day 12: SIGHTSEEING AROUND LEH:Early morning drive to Thiksey monastery to meet with the morning prayer ceremony performed by an assembly of monks before the sunrise. Breakfast at the monastery restaurant and proceed to Hemis monastery and Gotsang meditation caves by walk. Picnic lunch on the way. Way back visit the Shey Palace and shrine. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Leh.

Day 13: LEH-ALCHI (69 Kms / 02 Hrs):Drive from Leh to Alchi which houses the 1000 year old monastery with wall fresco and statues painted with stone colors. Check-in camp / hotel and visit the monastery. After a hot Buffest lunch drive to visit the Rizong monastery is known as the paradise for Meditation. Guru Padma Sambhava is believed to meditated here for years way back visit Chulichan nunnery. Dinner and overnight at the hotel / camp in Alchi.

Day 14: ALCHI-LAMAYURU-ALCHI:Drive with packed lunch to visit Lamayuru monastery which is about 50 Kms from Alchi. Lamayuru is the oldest holy site in Ladakh, it was a bon shrine prior to the advent of Buddhism. Also known as Yung Drung (Swastika) it is sited on a high promontory overlooking the village and valley. Dinner and overnight at the hotel / camp in Alchi.

Day 15: ALCHI-MANGYU-LEH:Leave with packed lunch today to the village of Mangyu. Couple of hours walk involved today. We spend whole day in the village, see the local village life and day today work. Visit to a Ladakhi local house and try “Butter Tea” and Chhang the local brew. Interact with people. Enjoy the picnic lunch in the village. Mangyu houses the 1000 year old shrine very less known to people. After the village experience drive to Leh. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Leh.

Day 16: LEH:In the morning visit the Oracle which will go into trans and heal people and tell their future. Afternoon visit the Ladakh Amchi (Dorctor) for a nerve check-up demonstration and introduction to Tibetan Herbal medicine. Dinner and voernight at the hotel in Leh.

Day 17: LEH-NUBRA (126 Kms / 06 Hrs):Drive from Leh to Nubra valley over the world’s highest motorable pass Khardungla 5,359 M (17,582 feet). Nubra valley (Nubra means valley of flowers) is one of the last frontier at Indo-Pak boarder near the Siachan glacier once been the crossroad for the “Silk Route Trade” between India and central Asian countries. Check-in adventure camp. After lunch visit Samstanling monastery. Dinner and overnight at the camp.

Day 18: NUBRA:Today visit Deskit and Hunder monastery. Enjoy a double hump Bacterian camel ride in the Sand Dunes of the valley. These camels were left from the ancient Silk Route trade. Walk in the village for sometimes. Dinner and overnight at the camp.

Day 19: NUBRA-LEH:Morning drive to Panamic to visit the hot spring famous for its medicinal value if taken bath into. After the short visit drive to Leh. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Leh.

Day 20: LEH-DELHI:On time departure transfer to Leh airport to board the morning flight to Delhi. On arrival in Delhi, met by representative at the airport and transfer to hotel.

Day 21: DELHI-HOME:On time departure transfer to International airport to board the onward flight to home.
