Bactrian camels are over 2 meters tall at the hump and weigh in excess of 725 kg  They are herbivores, eating grass, leaves, and grains, capable of drinking up to 120 liters of water at one go. There are more then 2000 camels in Nubra valley most of them being in the Sand dues of beautiful Hunder village. Today these camels are used for ride by the tourist in these sand dunes of COLD DESSER. One can enjoy the ride for hours to days.
